2016 CEBA Business Meeting

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone’s bees are harboring safely with all the ridiculous changes in this weather!

Please come join us January 11th, 06:30 PM at Oatland Island Wildlife Center.  CEBA will be having their annual business meeting to kick off the New Year!

This is a very important meeting for our club, as it defines the goals from the members that the Board will work to achieve.  We are well underway with our Master Gardner’s Project on the Pollination Gardens and we hope to finally be finishing the CEBA Shack very soon!

Below are a few of the major changes coming your way:

  • Speakers are already funded for each of the regular club meetings (March, May, July, September, November).
  • Apiary workshops will take place on the 2nd Saturday of each month, in the afternoons (New Times Pending Meeting).
  • Apiary workshops will be used for even months (Feb, April, June, August, October) on Saturday’s.
  • The continuous education by bringing in speakers each month will help you to learn advanced beekeeping without leaving Savannah.
  • Our sugar program starts in January 2016 (Instructions/details will be at the Business Meeting)
  • Wilbanks Bee Packages (100) for early delivery have already been placed for our club.  Members may start their deposits at the January Business Meeting.
  • We have added a 3rd Honey Extractor that will allow more members to be extracting on the same weekends.
  • We are bringing back our CEBA club Low Country Boil for the members that will be held between Summer/Fall seasons.
  • We will continue our membership into the Georgia Beekeepers Association in 2016, which in turn will provide more opportunities for our club.

Of course, we cannot do any of this without your participation and help.  We will start taking Wilbanks orders throughout the meeting and if you need to update your CEBA membership, we will have a table set up in order to get you active again.

Please make the time to attend and learn more details of what we are planning.  Bring your ideas and suggestions and help us make this club provide you the experience you are looking for in beekeeping.
